The week of 18-25th January is the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Churches together in Histon will be running several events this week, culminating in two days of prayer on Sunday 24th and Monday 25th. For more information, please see our calendar or click ‘read more’.

Throughout the week: Prayer request cards

Prayer Post Boxes will be put out at the Salvation Army shop and St Andrew’s Centre main entrance with printed postcards for anyone to post a prayer request. These requests will be prayed for during the two afternoon slots on Sunday 24th & Monday 25th in the Upper Room at the St Andrew’s Centre.

Throughout the week: Prayer Walks

Sheets for guided prayer walks around the villages will be available from the St Andrew’s Centre.

There will also be a guided prayer walk on both Sunday (led by James Blandford-Baker) and Monday (led by Richard Kellow) afternoon from 3-4pm. They will depart from and end at St Andrew’s Centre, and anyone is welcome to turn up and join in.

Sunday and Monday: 24 hours of Prayer (8am-8pm each day)

Sign-ups sheets are available, both in St Andrew’s Centre and online – please click here for the online signup sheet. People from all churches across Histon and Impington are welcome to sign up and commit to praying for our community for a one-hour slot on either Sunday or Monday. You can pray wherever you are – at home, at work, walking the dog or anywhere else.

Sunday and Monday: Prayer Stations at St Andrews Centre

Prayer stations will be set up in St Andrew’s Centre (Hall 2) from 2:30pm-5:30pm on Sunday and Monday; volunteers from the churches are invited to come and help pray for anyone who would like prayer, or to just use the prayer stations themselves. Refreshments will be served all afternoon.

Prayer for the cards filled out during the week will also take place in the Upper Room during this time.
